Can Consumers Get Business Credit Cards?

Filed Under (Credit Cards Blog) by creditblogger on 27-08-2008

It’s true that business credit cards are often designed to fit the needs of a fully-fledged business, but can a consumer apply and get approved for a business credit card?

The simple answer is yes! But it all depends on the type and brand of product that you apply for. Many companies ask for your EIN number before allowing you to apply for their cards, and they check to see if your business is legitimate. But many issuers simply don’t do so. In addition, a few issuers don’t even ask for your EIN. In essence, some of these business credit cards are glorified consumer credit cards, and work the same way. I do suggest you do your homework (fees, APRs, Rewards) before applying for a business credit card to use it for your everyday shopping, but it is perfectly normal to consider business credit card offers in your research process. Should I tell you about my favorite (the reason is very obvious)?
